Posted on June 19, 2016, updated July 10, 2016 Placed an order for two aconitum. I did not get an order confirmation, so I sent an email to the company asking them to confirm my order and when I should expect it to ship out. Patrick sent me a message back after my second attempt of contacting them to tell me that they were too large to ship and they should be shipped in the fall. Nowhere on their site does it say anything about these not shipping until the fall. There is no mention anywhere on their site about shipping schedules for these plants. He offered me two options; either cutting them back or bending them to fit in a box. I told him to bend them to fit them into a box. He then got very abrasive with me and told me he just wasnt going to ship them. I told him that was fine and to refund my money. I paid via paypal. He said he would mail me a check. Really? A check? I paid you instantly and you cant even refund my money? I use paypal all the time and I know how simple it is to give a refund! This company has been a complete waste of time! Do not ever order anything from them. The guy is a complete joke and I am sure this business wont last much longer the way it is run.

On July 10th, 2016, Shade_RPh added the following: Patrick is a joke to deal with. He offered me two options to ship the plants to me, because of their height. He said he could bend them over to fit in a long box or trim them back. I inquired about bending them to fit in a long box and he was the one who exploded in anger and told me that he had lost too much money in the past shipping large plants and flat out refused to ship me the plants after I asked about one of the options given. He has LIED and not refunded anything to me. As I write this, he still has my money and not refunded me a dime! I dont know what kind of fraudulent business he is running, but I cant wait to get my money back and be done with his company once and for all. I advise anyone who reads this to never deal with this company for any reason. There are other merchants out there who go out of their way and ship lovely plants in a timely manner. This joke of a guy just decided to not ship me anything and steal my money. Just avoid this company at all costs!

I was away on business the day he ordered and sent him an acknowledgment email the next day. The $8 Aconitum he ordered was over 4' tall, too fragile to ship and I told I could top it for shipping or send it in the fall. He exploded in anger at this simple case of common sense.

I spent over 1 1/2 hours working on this man's cancelled order. I offered to mail him a refund check but he said he did not trust me and insisted I refund thru Pay pal which I did thru my business account and emailed him so. A day later he demanded I call Pay pal as he said he called them and they could not confirm the refund. Again I accommodated him and called Pay pal and they told me my refund to him was received when I first sent it but there was a waiting period of several days to process it.

He sent me over 13 nagging and complaining emails in one week. I could not have gone more out of my way to be helpful with him. It was a very negative experience to deal with him. I try to be as accommodating as possible but I'm not a vent for people's anger. He needs to pay a professional for that or go to a anger management course. I have too much work to do for me to have wasted so much time on his anger issues, such a waste!

Wonderful plants, wonderful packing, delivered when stated and good communication I bought 6 Hannah's choice blueberry plants from Patrick and had them shipped from NY to WA. The blueberry plants were some of the biggest, in best condition that I have received. His packing was excellent. All roots were still moist when received. He shipped the exact day he said he would. He responded to my initial phone message in hours. He confirmed the plants were on the way by email with tracking number. I actually bought a couple more plants than I really need because I half expected some would probably not make it. ...but... I do believe all of these plants are going to live!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!there are too many reliable responsible companies out there that offer healthy plants - only wish i had been warned about this one!!

I do remember this customer. She sent an order in very early by mail in 2012 for some Heuchera. I sent a email confirmation to the email address on the printed order form. She called in March about the order. I told her that I was in growing zone 4 and shipped later in May and sent her a email the day I shipped to advise her. I advised her that I was in the Northern Catskill Mountains in NY and that spring was very late to arrive here and that the plants would be coming out of dormancy.

It was a cold and late spring here last year and my plants were late in emerging from dormancy. I shipped her order in May, all the plants were healthy but coming out of dormancy, just beginning to show new growth.

I received a letter from her with another order form and a handwritten message in tiny print. She complained about the plants I sent her, mentioned sending a complaint to Dave's Garden and wrote that the other order form was to show me that she had planned to place a second for additional plants.

I compared both order forms and noticed different names and email addresses on each order. I sent several emails to both addresses telling her that the plants were coming out of dormancy and be patient with them or return them for a full refund.

I never heard from her. Why she didn't contact me or return the plants I don't understand. I did notice that she joined Dave's Garden 1/30/13, the same day she sent the comment. Eight months is a long time to hold in this type of anger. Its difficult for me to understand. I did the best I could do, that any business could do in this type of situation.

I did send several emails to this customer to both email addresses asking her to wait for the plants to grow out of dormancy or return them. There were 2 different names and emails on the 2 order forms. I wasn't sure about how long ago the order was from, the past few springs have been very late here. 18 months is a long time to wait to post such a negative comment like this. The plants were alive and growing, just coming out of dormancy.

I read the reviews on this company and decided to order from Patrick Sarisky. He was one of the few vendors that had Berry Smoothie Heuchera and and Sweet Tea Heucherella, both hot new 2010 introductions still available. His prices were fair and the shipping prices were reasonable. He sent me an email the same day I ordered my plants and notified me that they would arrive within 2 to 3 days. The plants arrived in 2 days. They were well packaged, nicely rooted and health plants. One looked a little worse for wear but I have no doubt that it will recover and grow well. I am very pleased with my buying experience with Patrick and will order from him again. It is nice to find a company that has good customer service with quality products as well.

I recently placed an order with eminence and wanted to come here so others would know what to expect and not have the same surprises I did. Good: 1) Patrick returns emails promptly 2) They offer a number of newer cultivars Bad: 1) They packed all 6 of my plants into a single USPS Priority mailer and charged $17 for S&H. 2) They sell the plants as 3.5" pot size, but when I went to plant them out, many were actually just plugs repotted into a larger pot with soil added. In fact, on a few, the roots were still tightly in the hexagon shape that plugs come in and looked like they may have been removed from the plug tray and repotted right before they were sent. If he had sold these as plugs and not charged $12 a piece for them, I would have been interested as they were healthy. However, charging $12 for a plug that cost $3 and calling it a 3.5" pot because soil has been added is deceptive in my book.

This customer order new introductions that were just released.

Of the 6 plants ordered only one, Heucherella 'Sweet Tea' was potted up one week prior to shipping as it was just released then. 3 of the plants I had received over the past 4 months, again recent introductions and 2 were several years old.

I think I made $2 over the actual cost of the priority mail and delivery confirmation for the handling part that was about 1 hours work altogether.

Why someone would get so upset after receiving an order such beautiful plants I can't understand.

This was my first order with Eminence Meadows.I am giving EM a neutral but nuged towards a positive I like his list of plants. I ordered sedums, heucheras a fern and some hardy geraniums. He shipped when he said he would. The package was well packed BUT The plants were very dry and many were quite small and wilted . At this writing they are newly planted and the jury is out about viability. I liked dealing with Patrick. He returns emails, is graceous about canceled plants.

I was looking for 'Georgia Peach' Heuchera during fall, which is harder than during spring. (I live in Dallas, so we've got a few more months of warmer weather before the frosts come.) I also found that they carried Brunnera 'Looking Glass', which I also wanted. So I ordered two of each. The heucheras arrived in good shape. Several mature leaves on each. I received an email ahead of time warning me that the Brunnera was already starting to show signs of going dormant. One Brunnera actually didn't look half bad. Good size, plenty of roots, and the leaves didn't really show signs of going dormant. The other Brunnera, I'm afraid, had been wrapped up along with a small, black, iridescent beetle, and two snails. So most of its leaves were chewed up. But it had a couple, untouched mature leaves and a few younger leaves, plus lots of "buds" at the crown, and lots of root mass. So I snipped off the bad leaves, planted them all, and we'll see what happens. The plants came with a TerraNova label, so I'm guessing Eminence Meadow got their plugs from there. The plants came in a sturdy, plain, white box. Each plant looked like it had been grown in healthy, friable garden soil as opposed to artificial growing medium. Each plant was wrapped in newspaper, which was then put inside of a small, brown paper bag, which was then placed inside the box with more newspaper added to keep everything in place. Which was good because my postman decided to leave the package upside down for me. There was no writing on the box about there being live plants inside, though. The postman might have been more careful if there were. Overall, the experience was plenty good and I would order from them again.

I just ordered about $100. of plants from Eminence Meadows. I ordered hostas, epimedium (beautiful!), monkshood, and an unusual fern, (among others) so I feel I had a good cross-section of their products. ALL of the plants were very nice sized for the money and obviously freshly dug and packaged. As a matter of fact, from the time I browsed their website to the time the plants were at my door was LESS than 1 week! I also had a question about a plant before I ordered, and got a very nice answer the same day... on a Sunday. I would definitely do business with this company again!

This was my first order from Eminence Meadows. I found them on the internet when searching for Heucheras. They have some hard to find ones. I was very pleased with the plants. My order was shipped immediately and was received a few days after I ordered. Great care was taken in packing the plants for shipment. I highly recommend this nursery.

I discovered Eminence Meadows this spring while searching the internet for heucheras. This is a small nursery with a wonderful selection of heucheras, hostas. and other perennials. The heuchera list included many of the newer varieties I had been looking for plus many I had never heard of. The extensive hosta list had some of the much sought after streaked varieties. As an added bonus you got free hostas(a first for me with perrenial nurseries).I immediately placed an order. The owner worked with me to find a suitable ship date,as his plants are just breaking dormancy when I (being farther south) am into full planting. The order arrived on time with nice healthy plants that had been carefully packed and neatly labeled. Patrick was nice enough to notify me when he acquired new varieties, and I placed a second order. All the plants ordered from this nursery are doing great. I love to find smaller nurseries to order from because you generally get speedier service with a more personalized touch. This nursery exceeded my expectations and delivered beautiful plants. The owner was professional in every respect and I will definitely order from them again.Eminence Meadows is now one of my favorite nurseries.

i was just looking at this nursery and noticed some other complaints. I also was taken by this person named Patrick Sarinksy who I think is the owner. I purchased some perrenials that did badly, and being local, I took them back and showed them to him.... that they died within a few weeks. He told me that it was my fault, that I had to do something wrong, and that there was nothing he could do. I lost over a hundred dollars and have no plants. I also saw that other persons, complaint and I have no doubt that is what happened to me also.... very bad quality and he was very unwilling to do anythng to fix the situation. I just left and knew I had no recourse. so be careful...

The owner of this company litterally stole my money. He sent me bad and small Heucheras that died, He said it was my soil. all the others are doing fine. He does not give you what is in the pictures. They were tiny plants and just cutting in 3 inc pots. some 13.00 for one little piece. He told me to send them back and now he has the plants back and wont refund the money and wont answer my emails he has decided to keep the plants and my $150.00 That I have to pay on my card and have nothing to show for it. He got the product back and then just kept the plants that he will nurse back to health and re sell a second time. Other companies sent me three large Heucheras and shipping was almost equal to the price of one of his homegrown cuttings. And he is not a certified PROVEN WINNERS dealer who sells small cutting of them. I saw the real ones when they arrived they were all big and beautiful, and had the right labels on them from Proven winners who created the new Dolce line of Heucheras. Anything but his heucheras are thriving nicely and It is not my fault and he is nasty. And now he does not answer any emails when I ask about my refund now that he has the plants back he is keeping both. Do not order from him you will not be happy and he will not replace or refund anything if they die. You can not grow healthy Heucheras from tiny little cutting that he sends out, some were 13.00 for one in a 3 in pot. Other dealers send out full size large plants for the same price and he also charges 15.00 shipping if it is one plant up to ten. So if you do buy one you pay 15.00 up front. I also spent ten dollars to send them back. So I am out $160.00 now. and nothing for it. BEWARE....

Trust me he said it was an act of GOD it was an act of fraud. He has the money and the plants. I wll not respond to his horrible lies after this email. I have all the proof I need. If he is that petty than so be it. I learned a bitter lesson. always see what you are getting in a nursery locally. And check out the company on line which I did not do. The other company that sent the Dolce key lime pie was a pleasure and he sent out three healthy large plants for almost the price of one of his small cuttings. And you dont charge someone 15.00 shipping for one plant. Or if you order more it stays at that price that is a scheme to make you order more. why did the other online company send me three large plants for only seven dollars shipping. And his free Hosta? He said I did not say thank you. it says you get one if you spend a hundred dollars and over. And then more postage for the free Hosta. I hate Hostas... LOL!!! Good luck and be careful who you buy from on line.

On July 25th, 2006, Ellenk12 added the following: PS ...One last comment he sent me materail about when you start a new business on how to deal with people that are not satified. What an insult. Who would not be satisfied with nothing at all for $160.00 and this article was completely biased to the person starting a business and it was very degrading reading it as if I was some kind of theif. He even accused me of wanting free plants. How about some plants period,,,,,,,,,,, I have not one or the money... That's it if he responds again with more lies than I am done with this. Thanks again for listening and i hope that you all have a happy summer and buy plants that dont die immediately. My other Huecheras are all doing well and thriving. Thanks

The best way for me to repond to this is to quote Tony Advent of Plants Delights Nursery from his book 'So You Want to Start a Nursery', chapter Sevice With a Smile. I haven't asked his permission to use this quote but I don't think he will mind.

"Habitually bad customers are another issue. While I realize that most customer service books and speakers will tell you to bend over backwards for even these customers, I dissagree. No amount of business or other financial reward can make it worthwhile dealing with a truly bad customer. In reality, bad customers simply move from nursery to nursery taking advantage of whomever they can for as much as they can".

I spent almost one hour on a return call I made to Mrs. Macdonald (6/25/06) going in circles trying to help her decide which Heuchera I would recommend for color. During this conversation she bragged how easy it was for her to get her money back from another nursery whom she bought plants from that had died after her planting them. I had to cut her short before the end of this phone conversation because of the immediate negative responce she made to all my suggestions. I told her this and suggesested that she look at the photos on my website and decide herself as it was a matter of personal choice. She responded with a email the following day saying she knew exactly what she wanted and ordered 11 plants which I shipped to her 2 days later including a free 4 year old hosta.

My business is small and I do all aspects of it my self. I take pride in the the plants I grow and sell and felt this way when I packed her order.

After receiving them she emailed me she was dissastisfied about two of the plants saying they were 'drab green'. I told her (7/03/06) via email that I had shipped her exactly what she wanted and to return them to me for a refund asap as the guarrentee on my website includes trueness to name of varietity.

I recieved of 30 emails from her over a period of 3 weeks all of which I responded to as best I could except for the personal questions she asked.

)n 7/13/06 she emailed me saying that she would return the 2 for refund also saying on the bottom of her message "All of your other ones are doing fine. Let me know something, Not urgent. I am not in treatment today. I looked at your art last night and yes you are quite the artist. Thanks Patrick I still like you, and would order from you again. (if you would sell to me?????)
LOL??? Ellen"

She called the day she was returning the plants including a third one. H. 'Ginger Ale' she told me she was reluctlently returning because it was "turning pink". I told her that I had sent her a very healthy plant 3 weeks before and all the ones I still had were very healthy. She became very negative verbally and I reluclentently agreed to accept the 3 plants and refund her money.

What I received 2 days later 7/19/06 was her package containing 6 Heuchera dying and rotting wrapped in foil in waterlogged soil that had no drainage material. I had specificaly warned her before I shipped her order that Heuchera needed soil with good drainage and not to over-water them. All the roots were rotted and one of the green Heuchera was a variety I could not even identify and definetly not one that I had sent her. I felt very insulted after feeling so positivly about originally packing and sending her order. I still sent the $60 she demanded as refund, reluclently.

The Proven Winners plant she refured to is H. 'Beauty Color' which she originally told me she was desperate for, even sending a jpg of it. There is no PPAP for this plant, I don't even have it or any other Proven Winners Heucheras listed on my website and only offered it to her because she was begged and was so desperate for it. It was a 8 month old cutting.

I try as best as possible to go out of my way to accomadate my customers and spent over 3 hours of my time doing that with this person. I had a gut feeling early on no matter how I tried to accomadate her I would eventualy be writing this responce. I don't like being negative to other people, or having to spend my limited time in this manner but I feel sorry for the next business she deals with, BEWARE!!!!!

I was searching for an unusual Lungwort to plant in my new shade garden. Eminence Meadows was one of the few nursery's that carried 'Irish Spring'. The plants were beautiful and thrived. I would definately buy from them again.

I love heuchera (coral bells) and as I searched the internet I felt that this company had the best variety of selections overall. I was very pleased with the quality of the plants. I was curious as to how their hosta plants were, so I ordered one. I was very pleased with it as well.
