This ginger was labeled as Costus speciosa which I sassume is the same. It has a chunky, healthy looking stalks.

Crepe Ginger's (Costus speciosus) flutted "petal" is not really a petal. It is part of the male reproductive system.

First year with Cheilocostus speciosus and it grew very well! It got to over 5 feet tall and it bloomed. This pic was from October 25, 2011. My Musa Saba is also in this pic.
