Gladiolus Species, Hardy Gladiolus, Jacob's Ladder, Sword Lily (Gladiolus byzantinus)

Think this is the true 'byzantinus'. Certainly hardy. It's been in my garden 30+ years

It has a distinctive pattern and is a bright magenta. More delicate and elegant in shape than the large flowered cultivars.
