The cedar sage (Salvia roemeriana) blooms are a brilliant true red (shown here backlit by afternoon sun) which brighten up any partial shade or light shade area. It is a native Texas perennial.

The cedar sage (Salvia roemeriana) has roundish scallop-edged leaves which have small hairs on them. They are crinkley looking, but very soft.

Cedar Sage, is evergreen and Winter hardy in zone 8, hummers love it too.
