Fruits from my Brogdon variety avocado at various stages of ripeness. Eggplant purple is the color of ripeness. The fruit in the center of the dish is ripest and may be edible by mornings--if my budgie doesn't beat me to it.

The brogdon avocado. It's very buttery--you can see the oil in the picture--and no hint of fiber. Its principal drawback is that it does not keep, which is why they are never in supermarkets. In Florida, however, they are often available in farmers' markets.

Today's harvest. We've taken this many fruits from the tree two or three times before this. This, however, will be our last harvest this year.
