This is the amaranth palutus that appeared on my compost heap one day. I don\\\'t believe it\\\'s normally one that grows in the Seattle area, but we had an unusually warm summer with more humid conditions than normal.

I love this plant. Not only it grows easily, the younger leaves also adds wonderful colour to your salad.
