While this particular stand of bamboo is still quite young, the leaves of Indocalamus tessellatus are already exhibiting their large tendencies.

A patch of Indocalamus tessellatus in year 2013. A very rainy start to the season has produced many new shoots!

One day, I hope to be able to use the large leaves for cooking and steaming. This 'small' leaf is over a foot long.
