The Consumption Weed has delicate white fronds that almost cover the plant in snowy white in September and October. (San Antonio, Tx.)

When the Consumption Weed's "tassels" open, they beg to be touched. The seeds form and are carried off in the wind. With a slight breeze, it almost looks like a fog around the plant. Look closely ... see how iridescent they are as the light reflects off them in the photo.
