Scotch Moss in spring. I have this growing in part shade, morning sun. Lovely chartruse color to foliage. Would be nice in a fairy garden or between stepping stones. Spreads fairly rapidly, but not invasively. I have no idea if it sets seeds.

Scotch chartreuse moss with flowers.

The moss started out fairly small, but filled this container by the time this photo was taken in the fall. Its chartreuse color would probably be more pronounced if I had it growing in brighter light.

Scotch Moss and Wooly Thyme in a flagstone pathway. S. subulata looks a bit spent by mid-August in Northern CA, but it takes the heat like a champ and comes back strong in spring.
