Southeast Michigan:
Lotus beds — Monroe. The endangered American lotus is part of Lake Erie\\\'s heritage. The flowers usually bloom in late July or early to mid-August. They\\\'re an endangered species, so please do not pick. Also do not travel through flowers. Some places to see them: LaPlaisance Rd. to E. Dunbar Rd., turn east; clear viewing just over I-75; along the north side of Allen Cove Rd. just east of I-75 at Luna Pier; Lake Erie Metropark in Rockwood.
