I call this vine "Wild Sarsaparilla" and my Spanish speaking friends call it "Hierba del Ojo". It produces beautiful shiny red drupes in late summer and fall. Shown here as they are turning from varying shades of green to red in October. (San Antonio, Tx.)

A closeup in which you can see the dark red drupes in the upper right hand corner. Their skin becomes almost transparent permitting light to travel farther into the flesh. This causes them to have a red glow. October. (San Antonio, Tx.)

The extensive root network of a 2 week(ish) old snailseed, very easy to see how this could become a real nightmare, this doesnt even show the rest I pulled out!

A deceptively harmless snailseed vine, about 2 weeks old, but like an iceberg, there is a monster underneath! (note root picture)
