Italian Gourd Squash / Cucuzzi - Size to harvest for eating. Letting them get to big makes them bitter; harvest when small and cook like squash.

Large Cucuzzi Gourds growing on fence - they have reached the ground and I put styrofoam under them to keep them up off the dirt and keep them from rotting from staying too wet underneath.

Large, Dried Cucuzzi gourds can be used for crafting like any other hard shelled gourd.

My Cucuzzi grew up into the tree and the squash got rather long. Hubby is 6' tall. Love the white flowers!

The cucuzza thrives in our humid, Souteast Texas weather. The plant will grow like cucucumbers, and will need support from a trellis system. Grows from March through November.
