Overwintered in a pot outdoors. Some of the plants beneath a roof overhang received enough winter protection to retain their leaves despite low 20s F temperatures.

Tubers are potato like and grow below the soil surface. These are relatively unusual characteristics for a Sinningia.

Mine, planted in the ground, sandy soil on a slope, blooming 6-23-10. Hardiness will be tested this winter.

What a fantastic plant! Sinningia tubiflora is drought tolerant, relatively hardy & has beautiful fragrant flowers to boot.
