R. hystrix pushing out pups on Saltspring Island, BC, Canada. Very tough palm. Rarely sold among the Trachys out here but interesting little palm. Looks deer proof.

Photo taken 4/2010, Cincinnati, Ohio (College of Mount Saint Joseph). This is the same palm that I (aka: Paul Cincinnati -lost password) photograhed and uploaded in 2003. I'll take another photo and upload in the summer after the specimen has a chance to recover from winter and green-up a bit.
