More shade equals more blue color. Brown seedheads before mowing brings thousands more each year. Very dense growth is best.

Seeds are very small and black. Also very hard. Mowed seed pods before May, they come up the following spring.

Leaves closely resemble Dandelions. Frequently grow near each other. Makes danger for eating Dandelions. Leaves very close to ground.

When seed pods brown, cut and let dry in a paper bag with top of stalk pointing down. Then shake to pop out the seeds, which are small and black.
