This is the seed from 'Areca catechu' Palm. It is being sold by street vendors as a mild stimulant. When chewed with lime it turns the mouth red. PNG 2006.

To enjoy this you will need the green betel nut (buai), a jar of lime powder (kambang) and a bean-like green called mustard (daka). These can be bought on any street corner for about one Kina .
