This is a perennial impatien with a tuberous root and is somewhat frost hardy. Blooms late into the season.

Note the long spur on the back of the flower, it really adds to the flower.

My Impatiens tinctoria has a huge caudex that has broken several pots. The whole plant grows with wild abandon.

It is a wild and crazy grower;we often cut it back to keep it from taking over. Lush and beautiful.
