Hoverflies and bees home in on ivy flowers as if magnetised and the humming they make is such a nostalgic sound. The birds welcome the shiny black berries in winter/spring

English Ivy killing a Coastal Redwood
by Pitch Mar 1, 2003 6:50 PM
This area used to grow nothing, so poor and compacted is the soil. English Ivy thrives here, with absolutely no care except clipping the edges.

You can see this plant has climbed up this tree to the point of killing it, it has turned a once thriving yard into an "ivy wasteland" serving as a breeding ground for rats, snakes, and other animals. Also water gathers on the leaves and serves as a breeding ground for mosquitos. It will climb up your house, and completely take over anything in its path.

This invasive vine, will completely take over your garden. Serving as a breeding ground to rats, mice, and other pests. Sitting water on the leafs serve as mosquito breeding grounds, and as you can see here it will climb any tree to the point of killing it. It will climb up your house, on fences, anything it can grab on to.

This hasn't even begun, lol. Once I prune it, it will explode into a big viney mess. I look forward to it.

Wicked. Evil. Bad, bad plant. Just say "No" and resist the urge if it hits or buy plastic ivy.

If you don't get the roots, you don't get the plant! I tore this place to pieces and while in the shallow areas (Very, very rocky) I got all the Ivy, it came back here and its growing fast! But I don't mind, my path is cleared now.
