This is a second year plant. As you can see it is already over 3' tall and 2' wide. I like this plant because it keeps color from spring through to late fall in Zone 7.

This does very well in central Florida, flowering for most of the year, as long as it is periodically cut back to keep new shoots forming. It does get some freeze damage below 28 degrees or so, but resprouts quickly.

another pic of the same flower @ 4 days. the color @ the 'base' of the flower is so intense it looks blurry ( but its really not) just the tip is (blurry)
