Taken on 19th June 2006, feeding on Cistus ladanifer. They feed on many flowers, but are fond of those of the carrot, daisy and rose family. They also eat other small insects.

Taken on 18th May 2008. 5.5-6mm long. They feed on pollen, caterpillars, aphids and other insects. Larva live in dead wood and may eat slugs.

The puffed out red pouches at the side are a defense mechanism, giving off an odour to deter predators when alarmed.
