Spiny Oak Slug Moth

Spiny Oak slug on an oak leaf in mid September. This is only one of several different color combinations. And yes, those spines sting.

Spiny Oak slugs hatching from their eggs on my front picture window. Notice that 2 slugs are still in their eggs. The baby slugs are smaller than the tip of a pen. They hatch with stinging spines.
