09/09/06 - Male Common Green Darner - This guy landed about 100' from me. A first for me with this species, I rarely see them perched. Note: He was missing a part of his left front leg.

09/09/06 - Male Common Green Darner - Side view to show the body and beautiful colors on the abdomen. Mature males the abdomen has a dark purple dorsal stripe flanked by bright blue lateral stripes.

Taken on 9/10/10 at a pond north of Dripping Springs, TX. There were hundreds of pairs.
