Asclepias Species Asclepias Curassavica Tropical Milkweed, Scarlet. Milkweed for the monarch butterflies! Many species of bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds love the flowers too. Plant in early Spring. Can start them indoors. Tender Perennial. I grow this as an annual. This is good to have while you are waiting for the hardy milkweeds to get larger (which can take a season or 2 from seed). Because of the possible harm it may do to the monarch population in warmer areas, I will only ship these to Zones 1-7. If you bring the plants inside for the Winter, you MUST cut the stems back to 3". Be aware if your area gets warmer due to climate change, that you should not grow this outside anymore. | Seeds | (PlantFiles) |
