I have a small patch of strawberries in their 3d year. I like the size and quantity of the fruit
but they always taste sour to me even when they are almost overripe. Is that the type of plant I have or the soil?
why are my strawberries taste sour
This is usually caused by a lack of love. Have you been yelling at your strawberries recently? Have you been making fun of them in front of the cabbage? This would definitely cause the sour taste. I would try reading them a Judy Bloom novel or maybe take them to the park to run around for a bit. I hope this helps.
Actually I find my strawberries become "bitter" when they are overripe. This can happen REALLY fast so you have to pick them often. I pick everyday here in Northern California.
Do they get full sun?
Almost. We had a lot of rain during their bearing season though.
