A friend of mine who lives in the Poconos called me today and was curious as to what tomato heirlooms I usually grow. He was at a nursery at the time and was able to find some Brandywine plants but they did not have any Sun Golds. If anyone has any information on where I can direct him in finding some heirloom tomato plants, especially Sun Golds, in the general NE PA area I'd be appreciative. Thanks!
Looking for tomato heirlooms in NE PA.
I'm not much help since I'm in Virginia, but they might want to contact this place, which is in Pennsylvania and should know if there are sources for heirloom plants.

You can buy them at the Landis Valley Museum, or at a local school. Doesn't give a cut off date for the sales.

Thanks hart! I will absolutely get in touch with them.
Craigslist is usually a good source of local sales. And you can email the person who posted the notice to ask if they have what you want.

Thanks Denise! I just sent the link to him. Thank you! :D
And hart--I did send an email--haven't heard back yet but looking forward to hearing from them. :) Thanks again!
I was looking for a rare heirloom seed a few years ago. Their gift shop was the only place I could find them. I called, paid over the phone and the lady was so nice. Mailed them out in no time flat.
Did your friend find the desired heirloom plants?
Here is another possible source of nurseries. At least it provides telephone numbers so you can call and ask what they have. I think it covers the geographical area you requested.

Hi Nisi--I think he just went with what he could find. Thanks for the link, but I'm afraid that's a bit south of our target area. I do have friends in the Philly though, so I will bookmark that site for future reference. Thanks! :D
