looking to grow Dragon Fruit do they all need Pollination

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Do all Dragon fruit need pollination to fruit. I thought I saw where you dont need to for some .
Is that true?

GardenersCorner, I should be able to answer that question. I am growing Dragon Fruit succesfully (two years now). One of my plants came to me discribed as being self pollinating. But I didn't give it a chanch to self pollinate. I hand pollinated it along with my other two plants for three nights in a row last summer. How all three plants knew to bloom at the same time still amazes me.

So I guess my answer would be, I have been told there are some self pollinating varieties, although the usual belief is that they all need help and another plant to cross pollinate with.

So far I only have the white variety. Don

There is also a dedicated yahoo group for pitaya/dragon fruit. I get regular email from them, even though I do not (yet) grow that fruit.
