The first couple of years, my nectarines were doing fine, but it's been downhill lately. The older tree, I discovered, may not be getting enough sun, so I planted a new one in a sunnier spot. Last year, the younger was badly stricken with something that the Extension couldn't culture as bacterial spot, but they said it looked like it. This year, both trees have leafed out only sparcely, with no blossoms. Despite my applications of copper during the dormant season, I now see early signs of peach leaf curl.
I'm beginning to think someone is trying to tell me something.
Trying to decide if I should just take the trees out and give up on nectarines, plant new trees, or try to nurse these to health.
Giving up on nectarines?
