How deep should I plant potted asiatic lilies?

I purchased a box of mixed asiatic lilies from Sam's Club late this winter. I had to, they were sprouting and were going to die if I didn't rescue them :) I planted them in 5 inch peat pots and they are now 2 feet tall and blooming in my kitchen. In a couple of weeks I should be able to plant them outdoors. I am wondering how deep I should plant them. Will they develop roots along the stem if I plant them deeper than they are now in pots? Any advice?
