What Can I Do NOW for Peach Leaf Curl?

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I bought copper fungicide but couldn't spray in the Fall or before it bloomed because it kept raining and raining! Is there anything I can do now for the curl so that I can get some peaches this year? The tree is big and looks healthy other than the tips of the branches being black from last year's curl.

If it's leafed out now, there's not really a lot you can do. Spraying with dormant sprays may injure the tree.

The sprays I have aren't oil based. (I guessed I missed that part of what I should have bought.)

Not everything called a dormant spray is an oil spray.

Your peach tree will not re-bloom this year. No peaches this year. Now, the best thing you can do for your tree is to pick up and get rid of all diseased leaves. As the weather warms, new growth should come in healthy. If the leaves show signs of peach leaf curl, remove the leaves immediately. Feed and fertilize it regularly, in general, get it as healthy as possible this year. Talk to your local extension agent to find out when you should spray in your area and stick to it.
