Happy Holler Gardens-Have you received order???

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

I placed a Spring order for a fairly large number of bulbs from Happy Holler Gardens, but after reading the Garden Watchdog messages, am wondering if they are still in business and are going to fullfill their orders. This is the schedule from their site that has the mailing dates for the zones:

Zones 10 Begins the week of 03/30/09.

Zones 9 and 8 Begins the week of 04/06/09

Zone 7 Begins the week of 04/13/09

Zone 6 Begins the week of 04/20/09

Zone 5 Begins the week of 04/27/09

Zones 4 and 3 Begins the week of 05/04/09

Has anyone is zone 6 and above received bulbs? I found out they are using the name flowerbulbsandperennials on eBay and seem to be selling many of the same bulbs. I did receive a nice order of Amaryllis from them last winter and the only problem I had was that the refund check they sent me bounced, but they did take care of that problem. I am sorry if anyone else ordered from them because of my giving them positive feedback and have had problems with them. I emailed them today to try to see if they will let me know the week my order will be sent. I will let you know if I hear from them. Their site is still up and taking orders. If anyone else knows more about the situation than what is in the Garden Watchdog, please fill us in.

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

I ordered 4 Amaryllis last fall. They shipped nice size bulbs but all have turned out to be Minerva. Not what I ordered.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

I placed a small order in the midst of winter, knowing full well that the prices were too good to be true. Pixie has communicated with me when I initiated it and answered the questions I asked her. After reading several accounts of their customer service, I am not really holding my breath. I didn't order very much, so if I am out a few bucks with no lilies, I will live with it.

The shipping calendar they provide is not very accurate for planting bulbs here either. And that was something I didn't notice when I did order if February.

It is kind of fishy to change your name, without notifying your current customers of such things. That, and.......in the middle of your ordering/shipping season.

Let me know how it turns out for you lincoln and I will keep you posted on my end of things.

Garner, NC(Zone 7b)

I have ordered a few glads from Pixie, and she has been in touch whenever I've emailed...Keeping my fingers crossed. I suppose that I was pulling for a NC business to do well.

Coshocton, OH(Zone 6a)

i placed an order on march 1 and paypal them the same day. i hope this isn't true. i email them, asking them if my order had been shipped a little while ago. i would hate to lose 48.75.

I e-mailed them, with my concerns after reading the garden watchdog. I placed a big order in january.Pixie answered and said that they had not closed and that I could expect my order at the scheduled shipping time. Their map shows that they begin shipping orders in my zone on April 27(yesterday). If I haven't heard anything by Friday, I plan on e-mailing again, to ask when to expect my order.

I'm in 7b and hope that mine are on the way.

Coshocton, OH(Zone 6a)

dee,

belinda

Tomah, WI

I checked on the automated invoice they had emailed me, this was what it said-

You will receive a confirmation e-mail providing shipping details when your order is shipped.

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Belinda, I used the e-mail at their sight...where it says contact us or something like that...maybe under helpful info..

Dee

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Dee, I used the same email address and have not heard back from from them yet. Will keep you all updated.

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I think they say on their site that they will respond within 48 hrs., and thats about what it took.
Dee

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Susan, have you heard anything from them yet? I didn't receive my order this week, so I just e-mailed them, to ask when I can expect it.

Coshocton, OH(Zone 6a)

i have email them 3 times and i haven't heard anything.

belinda

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

I've heard nothing and received nothing. Makes me so mad that they are sending their eBay customers the same bulbs I ordered and they are getting theirs.

Susan

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

You can add me to the list of people who should have had their bulbs shipped this week and didn't.

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8b)

Oh you guys~
I had googled a specific lily last night to find a mail-order source for it, Happy Holler Gardens was the only one to come up in the US, so I went to the web-site, and started to happily click away, filling my basket with some of the gorgeous selections they offer....then I remembered this thread, and came to read what was goin' on. I hadn't read it before as I had never used this nursery, I didn't think it applied to me. But after reading this, I didn't place the order. I'm sorry you all haven't gotten your bulbs yet, and no responses to inquiries with the nursery is frustrating isn't it? Especially when they have your money already? I really hope your lilies come, and are extra wonderful for the inconvenience you've had! That website gives no indication anything is amiss, and I was >< this close to hitting the check-out button when the title of this thread sort of popped into my Lily buying frenzied brain. I forget to check Garden Watchdog sometimes, but this thread was here, and thank-you that it was! Hopefully it's just delayed shipping, and the bulbs will arrive healthy and beautifulI! I'll be watching to see what happens and hoping it all works out well for you guys waiting for bulbs!

Add me to the list as well. Haven't recieved email back, contacted her a couple days ago, no response. I spent 150.00 plus dollars, . Will also file a mail fraud case with and a internet fraud case against them if I have to

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Wonder if it would help for all of us to file together? I just sent them another email at this address with threat to report the to the BBB if they don't refund my money within 3 days. happyhollercreations@yahoo.com.

Jaime, glad you remember this before you ordered.

Coshocton, OH(Zone 6a)

i filed a complaint with the BBB of north carolina, today. the BBB gives them a D+ rating.

belinda

Coshocton, OH(Zone 6a)

received notice from the BBB that my complaint had been processed and happy holler has until 5/20 to reply.

I have been waiting for a couple of bulbs since the first of the year and have not received them. Pixie kept pushing the date back and now she is not returning e-mails. Luckily it was under 20.00 worth of bulbs. I did receive part of my order and what i received was nice and helathy.

Ripon, WI(Zone 4a)

I got ripped off too. Ordered in March, paid the same day, end of story. They won't answer my e-mails and I've been sending them for about a month now. Belinda, guess I'll contact the BBB too.

Coshocton, OH(Zone 6a)

i hope everyone files a complaint. how do you file internet fraud and mail fraud?

belinda

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Still nothing. It goes back to two things for me, that I have always known but forgot to listen to that inner voice:
1) If the prices seem too good to be true, then they are

2) You get what you pay for

Well, okay....number two is not exactly correct, as we haven't even GOTTEN anything. So, in this case, revert back to rule number one.

Does anyone have a link to the BBB where you all have filed your complaints? I haven't lost as much as some of you, but I do believe we are owed at least our money that was paid out to them, since there is likely no product. Or there doesn't seem to be. Communication goes a long way, as far as true delays, but I definitely don't like to feel like I have been scammed, whether it be for $5 or for $200. It just leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

this is where the BBB sent me to file a complaint. http://charlotte.bbb.org/

I too ordered from Happy Holler, quite a big order, $435.30 worth. I tried disputing it with Paypal, but it was over 45 days so they wouldn't do anything. I ended up going directly to my credit card company and disputing the charge with them. Thank God, they ruled in my favor and I was credited for the transaction. The funny thing is that when I log into my account at Happy Holler they are saying that my order shipped. It's a lie of course. I wonder how many people they scammed???? Good luck to the rest of you.

Heather

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

I bet quite a few scams happened here as they were very prominent in the Dave's Garden Marketplace for several months.

Heather, so glad you got your money back. I hope the rest of us do too. Thanks for sharing.

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I just finished filing a complaint with the BBB.Used the link that daylily posted...Happy holler never responded to my last e-mail.
I just don't know how people can do this to other people. This is stealing!!!
DeeS

Ripon, WI(Zone 4a)

I have filed a complaint too. Let's keep each other posted on the results....

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Does anyome have a telephone number for these people? I sent one more email and will file a report if they don't get back to me within 48 hours.

Susan

Ripon, WI(Zone 4a)

The only phone number I had for them has been disconnnected.

Mableton, GA(Zone 7a)

I would like to request that each one of you PLEASE take the time to post your feedback on Daves Watchdog AND ebay AND report any mail order theft by them to ebay's fraud department. It seems as if there is no stopping this company and they are free to steal at will.

I also send a scathing letter to paypal for not standing behind me on my transaction. Due to the supposed shipping delays on these live bulbs during inclement weather, my purchases too were "delayed" (meaning not sent). As a result, to the ultimate plan of Happy Holler, I was not able to file a complaint with paypal. I let paypal know quite clearly that the only reason I used their service was for their "buyer protection" and that if they weren't going to provide it, they were useless. I might as well use my card. 45 days is not long enough and large numbers of people need to let them know it.

If anyone sees any way of actually stopping Happy Hollars from continuing to steal and possibly even being arrested and charged with their crimes, I'd love to hear it. I've never heard of a company actually being stopped, have any of you? Maybe contact their local sheriff.

Mableton, GA(Zone 7a)

I just went to GardenWeb and they are having the same problem. Here's the recommendations paypal gave one of there members:

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I just left feedback at the garden watchdog..will follow up on the other links(internet fraud, etc) tonight. While I am very un-happy with this company, I refuse to let them ruin this wonderful time of year, for me. While my order was $55,and I know several of you had much larger orders, that extra $55 was hard to come by...we are retired and living on a very tight budget. But I have soo many beautiful flowers coming on, thanks, to our wonderful co-op venders, and all of the great traders here on DG. And, I'm as happy as if I'm in my right mind, puttering amongst them.If I could talk to the people at happy holler. I would say, "I don't have a worry in the world when I'm strolling my garden...no angry people wishing they could get their hands on, or filing complaints right and left(and rightfully so!)....nope, not a worry in the world....how' bout you happy holler folks?"

DeeS

Now, I want my *#&*#*** money back...

Poland, ME

I came very close to ordering but I don't have room for all the lilies I have! So I didn't click on the send key. Phew!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

You have exhibited very good control, Mainiac. Congratulations! I never heard of Happy Holler until this situation came up.

Kalama, WA(Zone 8b)

I saw their ad in the classifieds this winter. I really wanted to order too but was broke at the time. Told myself I'd order later, then forgot all about it. So glad I did now. I'm really sorry though that so many have been ripped off by this company and I hope you'll at least get your money back.

Joy

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I had looked too...glad I resisted. So sorry for all the folks that have gotten ripped off.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

I filed a complaint with the BB a couple days ago. From what I could see, only 2 other people have filed complaints, so please be sure to add your story. I did notice that their website is no longer working and they have nothing for sell on eBay unless they are selling under a different name.
