Becky's MGs

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

I didn't know where to post these as they are being grown outdoors. So thought I would start a thread showing what I am growing.

First one is Light Sazanami.

hmmm.. u need some seeds from Debra out there..

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Thanks Debra. Sun Smiles and Kawaii are not real small flowers. About 3" in diameter. They are mounding MGs, not vining! Perfect for pots or hanging baskets!

This is Spanish Flag seeds. (Two different cultivars.)

Not sure what is in these pots. I was thinking they were Sun Smiles and Kawaii, but they are vining not mounding, so they must be something else but I have no idea what. That's what I get for not writing it down.

Fuji no Monet from Antoinette. Last seed, the others I couldn't get to germinate. So have my fingers crossed this is true to the blooms and I get seeds! ;-)

I am so ready to plant outside.. I have the area all ready, lows are still in the 40s', no threat of anymore freezes so far..what do you think? Plants or seeds?

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Ipomoea Aquatica from Beth! Another cool MG! Love it!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

my fugi no met did not germinate either, the baggie they were in look like they were from either you or joesph, but I think I have some from Liz still..

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

oh I love that aquatica! does it need to be near water? I got some and want to know before I plant..

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Debra - I would only plant I. purpureas at this time in your temps. When it warms up some more then you can plant the I. nils. That is my opinion. I. nils like the heat! :-)

Silky Blue from Karen (Bluespiral).

okay, i have to go look up I. purpureas to see what is and what is not.. LOL
heavenly blue, grandpa ott and SOH are i.purpureas, right? I have a milky way up.. is that an i.nil?

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Debra - The I. aquatica germinate in moist soil and then you can add them to a soggy area or no-drain pot. I will be growing them in a water container outdoors soon. :-)

Youjiro Chachamaru from Colin.

Debra - Those cultivars you listed are I. purpurea. They do well in cooler temps. I. nils are heat lovers. :-)

Scarlett O'Hara from Antoinette.

I believe this one is from Martin. German Mix of I. nils.

Last but not least is the Yellow Chinese Evening Glory. Still an itty bitty plant. But I do like it.

Thanks to everyone who shared seeds with me. I have more from others that I am also planning to grow out this growing season. I only have so much room.

Also, here is the Morning Glory bush after it recovered from severe pruning that I did to it.

Looking really good, becky, I am so excited for you!

Oh! One more photo for grins ...

I have been finding this plant growing around in my different garden beds. After scratching my head, I decided it must be a weed so pulled it up. Guess what it was? I'll tell y'all later ...
