Perfect pic to start the thread, Sharon!

We had 44º today and it rained on and off. The ice mounds in the yard are going away. Finally!

One of the branches on my Forsythis had borken, so, I finished pulling it off and put it in water. There are buds all along the 2 side branches. Maybe I'll get flowers. I've never had one of these before.

Millersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

Most of the snow is gone from the driveway and front yard. Temp was 55 deg, last I looked. Back porch and garden area still has snow and is usually 7-9 degrees cooler on the thermometer. A cool microcosm.

(Zone 3b)

6°F Such a beautiful sunny day with blue skies; a treat indeed.
Thanks for the new thread, MySharona. From frost to warm, very nice for your plants and Peanut>
kwanjin~sounds great, too. Hope the Forsythia blooms; such a pretty flower.
se_eds~sounding better there, too. Bet you're ready to get going on projects.

36° and crystal clear.
MAN I don't want to go back to work tomorrow!

Might as well start a 'Round the corner' thread w/ a little green!

Here's one of our new Hellebores.
It's second year here...we 'may' see blooms.

All these were shot today.

29° and dropping after a day of upper 30's and afternoon sunshine. Low to mid-40's and sunshine expected tomorrow and highs around 50° Tues. and Wed. with rain showers. Then it's back to highs in the 20's for 5 days or more. The snow has really melted quickly here and there is grass showing on some south facing hillsides. It's wonderful! I feel like a kid at Christmas!

Ric........I know what you mean. I'm not too keen on working tomorrow either. Spring fever is a serious affliction--even if it's probably a few weeks premature. Since I'm only working 4 day weeks as it is I'd better show up.

Adina.....nice snowdrops and rainbow pics!

Marsue..........that stomach virus went through my family back in Jan. No fun at all.

Looks like you put JW to work! My GS is is scooting around in a walker and starting to talk a little bit.

Photo: something "Springy" from last year.

15º this morning, quickly went up to mid 30's.
Now holding steady just above freezing. Love it!
All week supposed to be decent, highs in the low 40's. That's about 15º above average.
Only 3 weeks of February left!

Bernie

(Zone 3b)

9pm here; tomorrow on the east coast.
For 2 of the three weeks left in Feb., we'll be in Seattle, WA area. My daughter said they planted fruit trees today down there~hard to imagine.
5* with low of minus 5 to minus 10; dark.
Springy looks great, E_B.
ric~a little green is good, too.

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Celia – I hope you get those blooms and maybe some roots too!
Se_eds – Sounds like a nice day
Kiska – Beautiful snow pic! Have fun in WA!
Ric- Hope you get the hellebores blooms and looking forward to seeing the Arabis Alpina bloom again.
E_B – Gorgeous!
Bernie – 40* beats the heck out of 3* in my book!

Thanks for the new thread, Sharon. Adina's snowdrops are lovely as are your red berries.
Kiska: have a good time with your daughter and family!! Nice snow-covered-peak photo.
Ric: when do hellebores bloom? I have one that a friend gave me last year--it is a green hellebore. Your other "round-the-corner" pics are nice, too.
EB: your daffodils are beautiful!

Quoting:
Spring fever is a serious affliction--even if it's probably a few weeks premature.

EB: how true! It is spring fever time around our neighborhood, too! It was a beautiful week-end with temps in the high 60's and low 70's, tree frogs croaking, kites in the sky, daffodils poking up out of the ground--all harbingers of spring, although we know that old man winter will rear his head again before spring actually arrives. We had two snows in March, last year! :o((
It was 58º on my backporch at 7:30 a.m. and the sun was shining brightly. I had my coffee while sitting in the porch swing. Very nice! Rain coming in this afternoon, though.

Now 35º with light rain. Further north it will be freezing rain & ice.
Off to tear a house apart.

LOL Mau! You shouldn't treat Friday that way. He needs something to do. ☺ Feeling better?

Sharon, what kind of berries are those? Your temps are better. No more freezes, I hope.

EB, your daffies are prettier than mine. I'm assuming "Springy" is their name?

Bernie, 40's are good temps. Cool enough so you can work outside w/o kicking up a sweat. Warm enough to just sit in the sun w/o a parka.

Ric, love the pics. I can't wait for blooms, either.

34°F with 44º for the high and there is a winter storm warning in effect until tomorrow. Snow will fall in the valley this afternoon and tonight.

Mau – Poor Friday – nothing to do! Peanut has the same affliction.
Bernie – Did you have fun tearing the house down? LOL! Is another going up in it’s place?
Celia – This is the first time I’ve seen those berries. I’m not sure what kind they are. Must post on the ID forum. We aren’t out of the woods yet with the freezes. My jade plant is not happy. I had it covered really good, but it’s looking pretty puny right now.

Poor Friday... LOLOL

Hang in there, E_B! Spring is coming! ^_^

We did get a lot of the garden weeded this weekend, which was great. Now if it would just rain... Well, then I'd have to start over again with the weeding. LOL We really need to get a load of mulch to help keep the weeds back a bit.

Minus 9F. Sunny, again.
kelli~good to see there's more rain; the wildflowers will be loving it.
MySharona~very pretty; do the birds eat them?
marsue~yes, little Friday needs more toys:) Cute pic.
CG~sounds like hard work; dangerous, too?
kwanjin~loved last years' daffodils; nothing them to bring spring to life.
MarylynT_X~glad you were able to do some weeding; next, you'll be doing the fun part of planting.
Thanks all~
See you in a couple of weeks.

Low 60s, very windy and sunny. We had a storm roll thru this morning though it was more wind than anything thing and we have more coming later this afternoon or evening. These should be more active storms since the sun has come out and made the atmosphere more unstable. WInd gusts are averaging around 40-50 mph right now.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Celia: please don't turn me into the humane society for treating Friday so badly--LOL Yes, I am feeling much better, thank you! Nice daffodil pic.
Bernie: how nice to get to take out your frustrations on the house and hopefully, you are getting paid for it, too!
Kelli and Marylyn, I wish I could send you some of the rain we are expecting--it is now overcast and windy and a few raindrops have already fallen but nothing going on right now.
Pepper: that's a pretty high wind!
-9ºF---no wonder Kiska is going south for awhile! LOL

Currently 68º and cloudy here.

Friday and his "most favorite toy of all"---it's like a giant, fuzzy spider bouncing across the floor and he loves to chase it.

Thanks for the new thread Sharon. Love Adina's snowdrops! Something I haven't tried yet.

Kwanjin, what a great opportunity to try the forsythia!

Seeds, isn't it great to see the snow melt away!

Kiska, what a lovely blue sky against the blanket of snow!

Ric, pat, pat, pat. Mondays are the hardest. The hellabore looks fresh and ready to go! The rockcress looks like a nice salad :o) Spiky!

Early, nothing like a little guy scootin and talkin! Beautiful Daffs!

Country, spring fever has hit Iowa too! It's going to be over before we know it!

Kiska, too cold! It's so nice to be able to visit your family!

Sharon, a high of 70*. Absolutely perfect!! Pretty berries. They look like a type of Eunonymus. (Burning Bush ?)

Marsue, I am always amazed at how cold the water is when the peepers start singing. It's too early here for them. Poor poor Friday - smile.

Bernie, do you get to keep any wood?

Kwanjin, they are a nice sight!

Sharon, poor poor Peanut!

Kelli! Do you have puddles yet :o)

Marylyn, weeding! Good job!

Kiska ~ have a great vacation!!

Pepper, you are a bit windier than me.

Marsue, looks like he's good at killing spiders!

62* tops today, pretty windy, a bit of rain, another bit of rain and now the sun is out thru clouds.

Guess who thought he was coming to dinner?

Thumbnail by billyporter

LOL Did you fix him a plate?

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

He got his lettuce tossed on the floor :o) He seems to know when it's salad day.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

BP: I am ROFLOL!!! :o)))

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

A cat that likes salad? Now I've heard it all.

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

Marsue, that was the second day he did that, and the chair is pushed all the way in too :o)

Kelli, Zoe loves dark geen lettuce leaves, and Petey cries for fresh grass all winter. I just sowed cat grass today.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

Rained off & on today. We are warmer than Kelli in California! 42º now.

Isn't much salvage in this job. I got a couple pieces of paneling, the rest is just drywall & plaster. This is the before picture. The wall behind these cabinets to the right of the door is going.

Thumbnail by CountryGardens
Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

A man that wanted the old cabinets took them out over the weekend.

Thumbnail by CountryGardens
Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

Well he sure did :o) There's always a use for paneling or any other wood. Are you tearing the house completely down or gutting?

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

Are the bulkheads coming out Bernie?

Mau the Hellebores bloom here around mid March to whenever they decide to seed and stop.
The Heritage series are mostly sterile hybrids so they hang on pretty long.
Different ones bloom at different ages.
The Royal Heritage took 4 years for the first bloom. 6 years for full growth.
Others we have took two.

45° here now.
We maybe hit 50° .
60's the next two days...

Ric

Marylyn – I feel you on the mulch LOL!
Pepper – Hang on in those winds!

Sally – Your dinner guests are way too cute!

BP: we crossed. Interesting "carrots"! LOL

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

Marsue, the sun ate them before I could harvest LOL!

Yep, for cats. It's a wheat grass. I tried digging and growing the grass the outdoor cats eat for upset stomachs, but it doesn't like to be domesticated. It would rather be a weed. That is so pretty! What is it? The leaves look like parsley.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

BP: If memory serves me correctly, it is an anemone. It has a black center when fully opened. They are pretty little flowers and bloom in different colors.

too bad about the sun eating your carrots! LOL

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

Marsue, ohhh, I planted 3 rose colored anemones last year. Only one bloomed, and it was white. I don't remember if the folaige was like that or not. You'll have to get a clear picture because I'll bet it's beautiful with a black center.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Sunny, only slightly breezy, and warm!! The birds are chirping too so spring is right around the corner!!

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

Oh Oh Oh! I had two robins in the garden this morn at daybreak!!
