Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Do you have garden pictures from your travels?
Here are some from Savannah Ga.
I love the old part of the citi.

This was a haunted house, the door gardens were lovely in March when I was there

Lovely photos, Jo Ann, and another wonderful painting.

I'll look for photos tonight.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Lovely, Jo Ann. We don't vacation much, so I probably don't have any.

Cape Cod: one of the many old homes that have been restored. Every year their hanging baskets are displayed.

I've taken photos of this horsehead for the last 27 years. We pass by it on the walk into town.

Nature's landscaping - the miles of dunes with Rugosa roses filling the air with perfume.

Just a rose in a garden along the main street in Provincetown.

This really has nothing to do with this thread or any other thread in this forum, but the word travel at least appears now and then in this one, and I feel like recording this piece of news somewhere.

Today I have been living in the United States for 56 years. I arrived here from Japan on February 5, 1953.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Pirl those are fantastic pics. I really respect anyone who takes on the job of keeping up an old house.
The entrance steps are dramatic.
ZuZu thats wonderful news. Guess you like it here lol

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Congratulations, Zuzu. We're all so blessed to have you here!

Thanks, Jo Ann. I love those steps. More photos to come later.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Congratulations Zuzu. We are blessed to have you here. Tell us a little about your years before coming to America. Were you born in Japan? Of Japanese descent?

Do you like Japanese irises? (Sorry, that's all I think of during the winter.)

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

My family's Russian, but they left Russia when the revolution started in 1917. They crossed the border into Manchuria and later moved to Korea, where I was born. We had to move to Japan when the Korean War broke out.

Yes, I love Japanese irises. I have some in pots in two of my fish ponds and I have a small bog garden, where they're especially happy. Some of them came to me from a lovely lady in New York.

There's one more I will buy this year for you because it's too perfect. You'll understand when it arrives.

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

That's intriguing. Is the reason sweet and thoughtful or mean and snide, the way I prefer?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

A good mudslinging variety.

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Sounds hot (channeling Paris Hilton here). Can't wait.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

It sounds like a very interesting life, Zuzu. No wonder you are such a fascinating person with your posts on DG.

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Gosh, Polly. Thank you.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

You're entirely welcome. I'm happy to be getting to know you through these threads. Pirl recommends you highly, LOL.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Just because I'm blonde it doesn't mean I'm dumb!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

geeeeze, I'm a blonde too.
Took years to overcome the "dumb blonde" styriotype.

So cute!

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

How cute!

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

I'm a blonde too -- well, mostly white hair that used to be blond -- and I never minded when people assumed I was dumb. You can get away with a lot more. You can deliver excruciating insults and never suffer the consequences, because people assume you're too stupid to know what you've just said. It's fun.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

"Right on" I used to say horiffic things to people whe deserved it.
Mostly to people who just talked and didnt have anything to say.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Some people are insult proof and they are the ones I prefer to avoid.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Why is it that you see blonde dogs, but not blonde cats ?
ZUZU ???????
