Sorry for such a basic question as I'm a beginner, but want to tidy up the plant in the attached picture as it's getting too big and looking untidy but don't want to damage it!
Do I simply prune by cutting off unwanted branches at the plants' base?
Or do I use shears and cut the tops of the unwanted branches off?
Any help greatly appreciated.
