Local Garden Blogs

Germantown, MD

How many of you blog about your own garden? I have a few DC-area garden blogs I visit, but am looking for more -- especially seeking to compare notes with nearby gardeners and what everyone is having success with growing. Or do you just use this forum for that?

Here is the list of ones I try to visit at least weekly:
DC Urban Gardeners - http://www.dc-urban-gardener-news.com/
Washington Gardener - http://washingtongardener.blogspot.com/
Takoma (MD) Gardener - http://www.sustainablegardeningblog.com/
Jane Berger, DC landscape designer & writer - http://www.gardendesignonline.com/

And, yes, am working on starting my own -- time is the missing ingredient right now.

Thanks, Amy!! I like to look at some blogs now and then, but the problem with that is that there are so many and it is hard to find one you can come back to often. The forum threads are fun because they are more interactive DG does have a long list of blogs to check out, but I have only looked at a few. I do not have any favorites to mention at this time, and none local that I know of.

The sustainable gardening blog looks good......

Thanks, Amy. I've been reading some of those from time to time, but would also add Gardenrant.com to the list --some great stuff on all of those sites.

I've contemplated blogging, but it always come back to privacy issues to me. I wouldn't feel comfortable 'exposing myself' on the web as blogs tend to do. Although, I certainly do enjoy reading other peoples' blogs. ;)

Hi, Amy & Wrightie,
I forgot to mention an interesting blog that I came across recently and I went back and it has some wonderful pictures now of fall tree foliage in Jamestown and Williamsburg, one of my favoirite areas. Not exactly local but regional. Think you will like the photography and plants in this one:

"A Tidewater Gardener"

And another one of the Blude Ridge Mountains:

The Blue Ridge blog also has some interesting plants and beautiful photos. A good read.

Check them out!!

Amy, You've peaked my curiosity. I've never read any garden blogs. I'll try to find one in my area.
