Here is a pic of the first bloom. This was started from seeds 8 months ago. Paul
Bauhinia Glabra (Monkey Ladder Vine)
It is really pretty - how come you haven't sent me one yet? Hmmmmmmmmmm????
awesome tree. cool looking. wow i want one too. hehe
Is this a tree or a vine??
I have a bauhinia vine, B. yunnanensis. Its very small and delicate, not at all like glabra.
Its a Vine its very Delicate To
cool, what do you have it climbing on?? It looks very large in your photo...is that an extreme closeup? The leaves on my yunnanensis are only about the size of a dime
mine are about the size of a quarter its on a tall trellis paul
Its pretty. Is it also fragrant?
Very cool Paul!!!
Nope
I don't think any of the Bauhinias are fragrant, are they?
Wouldn't it be cool if they were? I know the trees aren't, but I didn't even know they were vining, too.
Nice, Paul!
I can;t get back there at the moment to take a photo of it, I stacked too many big pots in the front of the greenhouse when the temps plummeted yesterday. But I will try to take a photo soon of my B. yunnanensis vine. Its pretty cool. Its not in bloom, but its still cool.
I Belive The Yellow One Does But i Belive it Stinks LOL
Are you talking about Tomentosa Paul? I have one vining bauhinia and another that is supposed be a tree with vining branches, i have tomentosa but it freezes to the ground every year for me along with my 3 bauhinia trees/Shrubs.

Really lovely!
I have a tomentosa on my deck that blooms regularly, but I have to say I have never smelled it. Now you got me scared to!
Bauhinia x blakeana (a tree) is sweetly fragrant.
The white Bauhinia tree smells WONDERFUL!
Phicks, what's the trick for getting those guys to germinate? I got some seeds through a trade this month and so far nada...
Roberta

You are kidding! The trees bloom in one year from seeds???!!!
I am having no luck finding the plants or seeds. T or P any suggestions?

Thanks .. what can I send you?
Marie-
dmail me :o)
I have a packet of spare seeds that just says bauhinia vine seeds, and you are welcome to them. Not sure which variety, but any are nice, so email if you'd like them.
I scattered all of my other bauhinia vine seeds in a bed, under a cloche, so if I get some sprouts, I'll let you know.
I've started them in the greenhouse before, and they are very easy to start.
oops...we cross posted :0)
Probably best to go with phicks' seeds...they are probably fresher :0)
