Hello, I'm new to the site and would like to thank you all for the wonderful information.
I live in NJ, US. Zone 7a, I'm building a formal pond 73ft(22.25m) long and 20ft (6m) wide and 4ft(1.22m) deep
a shelf runs along one side of the pond 8 in(20cm) deep.
I'm installing 4 trellises across the pond that will be 4ft(1.22m) wide and 12 ft (3.7m) high.
These will be used to shade the pond, as it is located in full sun. They will also be used for wildlife (humming birds, bees and so on)
Attached to the trellis, at the top, running the whole length of the pond will be a sprinkler system, giving the impression of it raining in the pond as you look down the pond.
My question is; What type of vines to use? I'd like a variety. They would have to grow 4ft wide and 15ft high or at least be able to trim to that.
I'm not to worried about them dropping leaves in winter but am worried about them being harmful to fish.
Any suggestions?
THanks
Shane
