That was a picture of a hamster whose name was Playful. There was a web site dedicated to his memory and I discovered the nice photo. So Playful's memory and visage lives on.
Sign me Weird in Wilmington LOL
Are you looking for something out of the ordinary?
Jonna: You are correct in that most of my seed collecting has been very speratic. I will get a complete listing tomorrow. I know I have a lot more than is listed. I agree will double check my collection of seed . I know I have some miscanthus, Japanese Maple, cosmos (yellow) and perrienial gerainium (light blue) to name a few. I know I can get some other seeds as well. More to follow
Dave

Dave
Dave, if you had a tough day: try to relax. I can wait. Í'm 51, but hope to have another 50 years. I won't forget you.

How can I find out if zone 6 here is also the same as Australia? I would love to try some of their native fruits here.
Pughbear7,
Well the only one which I'm interested in is the Salvia coccinea 'coral nymph'. But maybe you can collect seeds of the
Hardy ginger Lily and Shampoo ginger next year. For me it's oke to wait for getting something in exchange.
CajuninKy,
Here we use the USDA zones, zone 6A means that temperatures in winter can reach - 23,3°C.
To check what your USDA zone is
zone 1: under - 45 ° C
zone 2: -40 ° C en -45 ° C
zone 3: -40 ° C en -34 ° C
zone 4: -34 ° C en -29 ° C
zone 5: -29 ° C en -23 ° C
zone 6: -23 ° C en -18 ° C
zone 7: -18 ° C en -12 ° C
zone 8: -12 ° C en -7 ° C
zone 9: -7 ° C en -1 ° C
zone 10: -1 ° C en 4 ° C
zone 11: + 4 ° C
Jonna: I have no problem putting you on the want list for the costus. I am excited to see the flower on it as I have no idea on the color.
Dave
Well, it took a long time, but finally I will receive the seeds next week.
Most of it I will sow myself, but I will offer them next year or the year after if I was succesful to grow them.
These ones I will trade for either something special after your harvest in 2009 (I really can't sow more seeds now)
or if you don't have anything to trade, please Dmail me.
Since I did not harvest these seeds myself, I can't guarantee the seeds and I cannot give growing instructions, because most of it are unknown by me.

Jonna,
I'd be interested in both the Salvia hispanica and Salvia miltiorrhiza.
Also the Gloriosa lutea and Gloriosa superba, but the Salvia's are priority.
Let me know.
mj (you can d-mail me)
Jonna, I would love to purchase some of the salvia miltiorrhiza (have nothing particular to trade now anyway) -- If there is enough that is, after mj.
I will D Mail you.
thanks, Kyla
I'm interested in the salvia's as well! Plus the veronica and matthiola......
I can pay or trade, whichever you want!
Just a suggestion, JS, so you don't find yourself in hot water with regard to the AUP... Edit out the "or" option in your last post and replace it with "If you don't have anything to trade, please Dmail me." I think that should work?
Thank you critterologist, I didn't know it was not allowed.
I added a few more seeds:
Hieracium pilosella
Hieracium bauhinii
Echinops sphaerocephalus
Rhinanthus minor
Ledum groenlandicum
Duchesnia indica
Salvia sclarea turkestanica
Hi Jonna, I just ran across a (not available) listing for pulsatilla turczaninowii, a 9" deep blue siberian native anemone, and would love to have some of these seeds if you ever run into them. I'm not in a hurry, as I have more than enough seeds to deal with at the moment, but if you ever find them, please let me know.
Thanks.
Sharon
Sharon, I made a note of it.
Thanks Jonna.
Sharon, I found the seeds!
I'll d-mail you.
Looking for Cob Melon seeds these were grown in East Texas about 50 years ago the melon is like a canlope but much sweeter and the seeds inside look like a cob of corn
Geez, Davis. Jonna has proved to be a supreme seed huntress, but to find a 50 years ago East Texas melon seed in Belgium? Wouldn't you have better luck looking in Texas?
Davis, I was lucky to find the seeds for Sharon very quick. I will make a note of your wish. You name it as a kind of canlope. I do not know what 'canlope' means, or do you mean 'cantaloupe'? Or better: do you know the botanical name?
Jonna
I think Davis means cantaloupe.
Sharon, this one could be very hard to find. Most old heirlooms are very hard to find. But Belgium is not my only source. I have contacts all around the world. If people are patient (and most times they are, because they are looking for something very special), and can wait months, or even years, I will try to obtain the seeds. I can never promise to find them, only promise to do the best I can.
I do believe you Jonna (on both counts) - and you'll be the first to get any of my future lists of obscure seeds wanted!!! Thanks again!
Thank you so much yes I do mean cantaloupe, I am sorry I didnt look to see the thread location. My husbands grandfather obtained these seeds out of the country not sure were as he is no longer with us, the seed he had was lost in a fire, That is why we are looking for this specail seed. We are in no hurry but would love to get some if and when we can. Thank you for your help.
I believe Seed Savers Exchange has these seeds. Also, you may be able to find them in the Flower & Herb Exchange. (Cob Melon)
SSE does not have them I will look in the flower and herb exchange, Thank you
Didn't want to make this thread too long, so I posted my new offers here:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/958592/
I won't forget all the other things you asked for. Some things take time.
Jonna
