H: I got the Blue Ginger (Dichorisandra thyrsiflora) in a little swap with Ardesia. Now that its blooming, I think I owe her! LOL.

and one more dahlia... anyone know this one? Have to post on the dahlia forum and get it identified. It's med. sized bloom, tall plant...

Beautiful pictures, everyone! Looks like we may have a frost/freeze here this week so that may put an end to most of my flowers.

Here is Salvia madrensis 'Dunham'. This is the one PDN sold years ago, before they got 'Redneck Girl'. It's beautiful if it gets a chance to reach full bloom... but it's always a race against the frost. Looks like it will lose this year.

This is a hardy native aster - not sure of the species. Any ideas?

What a beautiful blue ginger Deb.

Here is St. John's Wort. This has been throwing out a bloom here and there ever since this spring.

TomH: Do you have seeds from the salvia that you'd be willing to exchange or is it still available? Yellow is an unusual color for a salvia.

Klstuart: I like your dahlias, too. That's another passion of mine. Your pinks are so clear.

Deb: I truly would like some of that blue ginger next year as well. Please let me know if you can swap.

Aw shucks Deb, I wish my blue ginger looked that good. What a great photo; you should enter that one in the contest if it is still going on. I'll have to see if I can't get more blue ginger going.

Here's my muhly this week; it is so striking this time of year with the sun coming through.

Muhly is nice looking this time of year. I'm afraid I don't like much the rest of the year but it does look nice now.

Kannapolis, NC

Ardesia: Yes; it positively glows when the sun hits it! I love it.

Chamthy, that's what my plants are going to look like tomorrow morning! I especially like the third picture.

The berries on this American Beautyberry still look pristine, although the leaves are showing the effects of frost and the shrubs are progressing to that wild octopus look. :)
