Im still really interested in the judging aspect. I was curious what make LWT the best you have done. If I was a judge, why would I pick that over LJT, which to my eye, I would rather have.

Im looking to put some teeth on the spiders, Maybe if lucky, get a few for Bobby's eight legged spider project.
I would still love to be a judge tho, I find that very interesting.

I tried to explain the judging thing in another thread a while back. In a nutshell your judging the whole plant. The bloom is just one part of the total plant. The best things about LILLIAN'S WOMANS TOUCH is the buds and branchs are always spaced perfect and it hardly ever need grooming. We are not the only one to win with this flower, as a matter of fact I have been beat with it the last two years by two different people. I do not care who wins as long as its my flower. If you enter shows and want a great uf get you a LWT.

Thanks, I got it in general. I guess Im not getting how a judge might know that a plant does have those characteristics. But, as with the one in the picture, I guess you ust hope and pray on judging day you get one on top of a nice tall scape like that and that there are still some buds.

I bet that is a kick, having your flower a winner, even if it is in someone elses vase.

Millersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

New for me this year. NOELANI (Mahieu) New plant and FFO. It is pod fertile as I have a pod on it. Subsequent blooms were much skinnier.

drolling big time
gardenglory
there are two tpes of flower s
great garden flowers and show table flowers . what is great in garden
may not have what it takes on the show bench .
Same with Iris
My show iris are not always the best looking in garden
i need that one of Spunkys because i show them
if you will not be showing them get what rocks your boat but if you want to win a show then you want what the judges like .
