Someone had posted a homemade recipe for cactus / succulent growing medium mix . Does anyone remember where it was posted ??? OR what the recipe was ??? Please email me in case I get caught up in life's hectic day to day activities . TIA !!
Cactus soil mix query
I have this recipe in my gardening file, hope it helps you.
A native soil mix: 40% topsoil (sandy loam from your property), 20% sand, 20% 3/8" gravel, and 20% perlite. I'd advise not using peat-based soil mixes, try some topsoil from your yard. If you're worried about weeds, seeds or pests, bake it in a covered pan at 180F for an hour and a half prior to use. (Only problem is if you bake soil in your oven or microwave it absolutely STINKS the house out, also makes your ovens unusable again)
Thank you very much for the reply ; it is greatly appreciated !!! Rock On !!
