I am pretty sure that I saw a listing in the newspaper in the last few days for a program on bees and honey at one of the area parks/gardens. I was thinking it was for Sunday morning Aug 10th, but I have scanned through the papers and checked a few web sites but cannot find it. I thought it would be a good outing for the kids. I know there was an article in the Thursday Home section of the Post about bees. Maybe I am just confused.
If you know anything about such a program, please let me know...thanks!

Program on Bees this weekend???
I don't want to dig up my Post password, but see if item #3 isn't what you're looking for.

Thanks...found it in the search! I was thinking Green Spring but Meadowlark is much closer to me.
Aug. 10: Honey harvest. Meadowlark beekeeper Mary Ellen Kirkpatrick will demonstrate the process of harvesting honey from bees and explain steps needed to extract it from the honeycomb. Taste a variety of honey. Participants will learn about honeybees, native bees, wasps and the differences among them. 10 a.m.-noon. Visitor Center, Meadowlark Botanical Gardens.
BTW, here is a link to the entire article...there are some other events people might be interested in: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/08/01/AR2008080101278.html
