What influences shade of lily?

I have two Elegant Lady lilies, in different beds. One is a fairly light pink. The other is noticeably darker. I observed this color difference in two delphiniums too, so I'm wondering if soil or shade or something could be a factor - especially whether I can expect the darker one to lighten up if I move it. The beds differ in that one is always in sun, whereas the other gets shade a few hours a day. One probably has better feeding. I haven't measured the p.h., but I wouldn't be surprised if one is less acidic than the other.
