Hey, did any of you catch the story about D.G. on "All things considered" ( I think ) on N.P.R. ? It was about Texas DG'ers helping out a family that had to move and needed help to take their lilies with them. I just caught the end of it because my D.H. heard it and called me in the house. It was a very nice story!
Story about Dave's Garden on NPR this evening
Bummer, missed it. It does sound like a great and uplifting story. I wonder if it could be found on a podcast?
Found it. What an incredible story. Keeps my faith in humanity!!!!!

Thank you for coming up with all those links, you guys!
Yes, I enjoyed hearing it on NPR on the computer. Even my DH enjoyed it. It is so DG like.
Wow, how neat! I am not surprised, since DG is such a community, but it's so great to hear it get national recognition!
Thanks for sharing this!!
Wow. My husband listened to this with me and commented. "Very good. Now I'm starting to understand why you spend so much time on Dave's Garden"

The thing that gets me REALLY misty is that if a member falls on hard times and can't afford a renewal DG waives the fee. I think that is the most wonderful thing.
That really is wonderful, Dahlia!
And we do get to know one another, don't we! Here I am in Georgia, and I've already been on at least two forums with you.... and I certainly have seen AggieGirl around the garden! And she's in Texas!

I know its way too fun. I belong to another forum that's spread around AB. When I met a member after a year, we hugged and we had never spoke to each other let alone seen each other. It's sure makes a warm and wonderful world methinks.
My DH just listened to it with me at the office... of course I got teary!
