Seedlings 2008...

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

First up is this purple trumpet; not new but back for another year. By the way, the bedsprings in the background (ahem!) is for my snowpeas.

Pard, wonderful seedlings! Your Aurelians are such sumptuous colors, and the pumilum hybrids are so cute! And I love that OT- great intense coloring. You're a great inspiration for me to try more lilies from seed!

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Always a pleasure viewing your seedlings pard; you're a master. Great looking seedlings!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Wow... They're all fantastic but that red chevron OT is out of this world!

Louisville, KY

Pard those are fantastic. Thanks so much for sharing. I would love some day to see all of your garden.

Great seedlings, I really need to delve into this aspect of lily growing, how many ways can one spread themselves?

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Thanks folks. I really do enjoy my "hobby". It is nice to see a number of you trying lilies from seeds. They really aren't hard to grow.

Well I'm into my July folder of seedling pics now. This is from the YPP group (yellow pink picotee). A yellow trumpet lily with a wide pink band around the petal edges.

Also from YPP, but insignificant pink edge, if any at all. But a very nice trumpet lily anyway.

Another from Cascade, an orange Asiatic lily.

That pink edged one is to die for! Absolutely beautiful!!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Ditto that!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Very nice!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Love that pink edge!!!!!

Here is another orange Asiatic seedling. The spots on this one are closer to the center of the flower.

This yellow trumpet seedling is from the very first lilies I started from seed back in the 90's. Nothing fancy but it comes back nice and healthy year after year.

Two tetraploid trumpet lilies from seed. I call them green back and pink back.

This has been one of my favorite seedlings, a diploid trumpet lily. It has such a nice display of blooms with green reverse. Wouldn't it be nice to bring the green to the other side to make a cool green lily?

This one I refer to as PP Melon, a melon colored trumpet lily with a pink picotee edge.

Gold Eagle Clone X Gold Eagle OP. Gold Eagle Clone is described by B & D as "...the original clonal selection propagated vegetatively." This has the open aurelian form and Gold Eagle's fine markings in the throat.

Back to Gold Eagle X, here are the buds on this one. They are purty pink.

Citronella open pollinated. This means I hand pollinated but didn't keep a record, but the dad is probably one of those Asiatics from Cascade.

This better shows the placement of the spots on Citronella OP. I have backcrossed it to Citronella.
