blueberry question

Millbury, MA(Zone 5a)

My bushes have set fruit and I'm wondering whether or not to give them a shot of fertilizer. I figure that they could use some feeding in general but don't know whether or not the timing would be bad. Can anyone help me out?

Tuscaloosa, AL(Zone 7b)

I think blueberries are fairly heavy feeders. I put fertilizer on mine when they started to fruit. I had a great crop this year. Be sure to use the acid fertilizer for camellias/gardenias/azaleas. I use HollyTone.

Thanks, Karen! I have a general purpose organic fertilizer that I plan to use on just about everything. Our soil tends to be on the acid side anyway, so I just don't put any lime near the bushes.

If you need additional acid, HollyTone is organic. I think most plants benefit from additional feeding when they are producing, whether it's flowers, veggies, or fruit.
