My boss has a house in PA and the previous owner planted this. He says it creeps out of control and he would like to get rid of it. Can y'all help me ID it for him?
Plant ID for my boss
I'm thinking its crownvetch, unless its sweet peas, but they are annual but reseeding.
Try looking for Corwnvetch ' Coronilla but not in Plantfiles; there are listings but no information!
It's planted as a groundcover- you may see it in catalogs, I used to.
Thanks Sally. I think you're spot on with the Crownvetch. Hard to believe something so invasive is listed in a catalog. I'll let my boss know and wish him luck getting rid of it.
I know it has the reputation of being hard to get rid of. The previous owners of my house had planted a hillside with it, and I didn't like it so I pulled it all out with no problem. Maybe a little came back, but I don't even remember that. For me, it was not a huge endeavor to get rid of. Nothing like the dreaded Bishop's Weed, or trumpet vine . . . .
