Hurricane preparation, protective plantings

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Heya! I didn't want my Florida buddies to miss today's article by LariAnn on plants that can help protect your home from high winds.

Maybe this is something that everybody down in "hurricane country" already knows about, but I'd never given much thought to anything beyond the fact that it was probably necessary to take coconuts off trees before a big storm. I'm emailing a link to her article to everybody I know who lives in southern/coastal areas!

Thanks, LariAnn!

Thanks LariAnn, doesn't hurt to brush up, and keep in mind what those hurricanes can do. I think my oaks and cabbage palms are what saved most of my house. The cabbage palms didn't budge an inch. : ) I truly believe in planting wind breaks. : ) Nice article.
