I paid to much for a potted cone flower at a garden center last year, but I liked the way it looked. I got 2 blooms from it late last summer after I transplanted it. This year it came out strong and has 12 buds on it now. The oldest bud is at least 3 weeks old. How long before it will put out petals and bloom? It sure seems like it's taking a long time. I guess I'm just too impatient. I have several other plants (Turks Cap, Hibiscus) etc. that have budded but not bloomed. Is there a special fertilizer or something to do to make plants bloom quicker?
THANX!
When will it ever bloom
Is your coneflower blooming now?
The coneflower still has about a dozen buds, but none have opened as of yet. I had several more plants I raised from seed, but the rabbitts are keeping them chewed off at ground level. Maybe God wants me to raise something else.
not sure what part of Texas you are in--mine have been blooming for awhile now, but they are still blooming so it probably won't be long for you.
