Albion Strawberries on the news...

Wildomar, CA(Zone 9a)

About 2 weeks ago I was watching the news, and they did a report on a new type of Albion strawberry, I have never seen a strawberry so large. They were the size of an avacado and were sweet and juicy. I think they said they were developed at UC Davis, and they would be all the rage next year. Well....I don't want to wait! I want to find them now!
I've searched and searched, I can't find anything....How can I order them? Any ideas??? I don't even know the TV station we had on, I thought that might help. They were for sale somewhere in California, I want to guess and say Watsonville. Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks in advance!

It is sold out but says nothing about them being the size of avocados?

Interesting - says it comes in both a Junebearing and everbearing variety.

Karen:
Thank you very much...I'll call & see if they are the real big ones. It did state that they were developed by UCDavis, so it must be the right ones! Thanks again. I'm not sure I need them, I just want them. I picked about 20 cups of strawberries this am....it took hours to clean them, and I was too tired to make jam, maybe tomorrow!

That photo isn't very inspiring.

Bumping last year's thread. If anyone is still interested, they are also available here:

http://www.kvbwholesale.com/store/fruits/61145

These are wholesale prices, but there is a $50 mimimum order.

Also, the Grow Organic site linked above now says they will be available at the end of this month.
